What is it?

What are the types of Heel pain?

Heel spur: This is caused by a growth bone which extends from the heel bone to the arch. Its causes and symptoms, can be ill- fitting shoes, inflammation, swelling and sharp pain at your heel.
Plantar fasciitis: This is caused by an inflammation of the thick band of tissues also known as the plantar fascia, they connect the toes with the heel bone. The symptoms can be pain near the heel, on the bottom of your foot, particularly after long periods of walking or long periods after rest, like firsth thing in the morning.
Heel pad symptom: It is a syndrome that causes a strong pain in the middle of the heel. It can be easily detected by a podiatrist. The symptoms can be tenderness in the middle of your heel after walking long periods, and a deep brusing pain.
Achilles tendinopathy: This is caused by an injury in the Achilles tendon, which connects the calf muscle with the heel bone, the signs can be noticed when you start experiencing heel pain and tenderness when running, and wearing high heels.
Tarsal tunnel syndrome: This is caused by a compression on the posterior tibial nerve, causing really bad ankle pain. It’s symptoms can include a burning sensation at the sole, numbness and tingling at the base of the foot.
Plantar fascia rupture: This is rupture caused by a really painful tear in the plantar fascia. The signs you’ll have will be bruising around the location of tear.
Severe disease: Also known as Calcaneal apophysitis, and it is common between the ages of 8 and 14 years, when the heel bone is in its period of growth. The symptoms can be foot pain in the morning, limping while walking, and after exercising.
Posterior tibialis tendinopathy: An injury to the posterior tibialis tendon, which supports the muscles and bones in the medial arch. The symptoms can be swelling and pain inside the ankle and foot, tenderness and pain in the outside of the ankle.
